Abstract

Nonterritorial establishes a sovereign blockchain infrastructure enabling physical art exhibitions to circulate globally without shipping, insurance, or institutional gatekeeping. Built on Cosmos SDK, the network operates as purpose-built cultural infrastructure rather than an application on general-purpose chains.

Modified token standards prevent all speculation while enabling instant, transparent payment distribution: 40% to artists, 20% to curators, 30% to operations, 10% to a perpetual commissioning fund. The architecture embeds anti-speculation at the consensus level, ensuring cultural circulation cannot be financialized. Through Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC), Nonterritorial becomes the foundation for an interconnected ecosystem of sovereign cultural infrastructures. The network targets self-sustainability by Month 18, scaling to 2,400 annual exhibitions by Year 5, supporting 500+ artists with median income of €12,000 annually from the network alone.
